Explaining Tongue & Groove Construction

At 1st Choice Leisure Buildings, we use a method called tongue and groove construction.

That may sound technical, but it’s pretty simple. Imagine pieces of wood that fit together perfectly, like a jigsaw puzzle, only designed to a fraction of a millimetre to ensure cohesion and durability.

This method strengthens our summer houses and helps keep them weatherproof, perfect for even the wettest gardens. As such, we’re particular about the materials we use. You won’t find any man-made boards in our summer houses as they can cheapen the quality of the finished product, such as OSB and similar.

Our product stands out because we prefer to stick with good old-fashioned timber – it’s natural, beautiful, and lasts for years. You’ll appreciate the difference.

Every garden has its own personality and homeowner who enjoys it. That’s why we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all summer houses. Instead, we work with you to create something that’s just right for your garden and your needs. We have become known for our bespoke craftsmanship.
