Sunningdale Apex Cabin

Size: | Sizes of these Sunningdale log cabins are 5.1 x 3.0m and 5.1 x 3.8m. All sizes nominal. Apex or gable style.Note this is the external size of the body of the cabin. The lugs extend 100mm on each corner making the overall size (as most other companies quote) 200m larger. We mention this so you know you are comparing ‘eggs with eggs’. Approximate clear internal size will be approx 100m smaller all round. Please check with us if internal size is crucial. |
Cladding: | Standard logs are 44mm thick and interlock into each other. The log profile has designed wind-tight connections to ensure a superior resistance against wind. Untreated. Kiln dried timber from sustainable sources. |
Floors: | 18mm thick T&G untreated boards used on these floors. No chipboard, OSB or other cheap sheet materials used on the floor, unlike some other suppliers. Solid floor joists normally spaced no more than 650mm apart. All floor joists are pressure treated for long life as standard. |
Roofs: | 18mm thick T&G boards used on the roof sections supported by strong roof beams. Roof beams meet EN 388 stringent standards. Untreated. Supplied with felt tiles (shingles) in either red, brown or green or Polyester based felt as standard.Large 30cm (about 11in) roof overhang all round. |
Porch : | A delightful covered porch area protects over the main double doors providing shade and shelter for the cabin. This log cabin balcony is approx 2.10m wide x 1.05m deep. |
Doors: | Joinery quality double glazed double doors 151cm wide x 186cm high – approx sizes. Low doors sills giving you easier access into your log cabin. Easy adjust hinges complete with gasket seals, fitted silver finish door handles, cylinder lock and two unique keys. Supplied untreated. Beware of doors with single glazing or excessively high door sills. |
Windows: | Three (3) Joinery quality double glazed (3-9-3mm) opening windows, size 76cm x 85cm included as standard. Complete with easy adjust hinges, silicon gasket seals and delightful silver finish window handles. Supplied untreated as standard. Double glazed as standard NOT single glazed. |
Lower Walls: | Height: 205cm all cabins. |
Ridge Height: | 2.67m on 5.1 x 3.0m and 2.78m on 5.1 x 3.8m |
Storm Protection | Provided as standard are either ‘Wood Storm Protectors’ or threaded rods. This helps to ensure that the wall planks on your log cabin will remain tight together depending on the weather. |
Fixings: | All required fixings (screws, nails etc) are included. |
Treatment: | All log buildings are supplied untreated. |
Fitting: | This log cabin with porch is supplied in kit form for self assembly. Option for erection through a third party if required. If being built you would require a concrete base or solid and level paving slab base. Optionally, we can help with many services to make life easier for you. These cabins are assembled by interlocking the panels for ease of taking it down again if you decide to move. |
Delivery: | All log buildings are delivered and HIABed off the lorry This delivery cost is included in the shown price throughout central & Southern England (green areas on map). Delivery costs to Yellow and Blue areas can be seen on the order form or on delivery area page. |
Insulation | The cabins are supplied with chunky timber walls (good U-values) and double glazing as standard and you can ensure that they are comfortable year-round with the addition of our insulated floor and roof upgrade. We use 50mm PIR Celotex / Kingspan in the roof and cover this with a structural grade 18mm OSB roof deck atop-thin before fitting your specified roofing material. We will use 25mm PIR Celotex / Kingspan in the floor. The fitment of insulation will not affect the internal headroom in any way and prices shown will include for fitting when our teams install your cabin. |

With the internet, it's often difficult to see what your new building will be like. This is why it's essential to view examples before delivery. This way, you can see how well it's been made, whether there is sufficient head height, whether the doors and windows are solidly made and how good the timber is
Whilst some internet-only companies may claim it's best to buy online, it is only sometimes possible to be sure what you are getting. If they are not prepared to let you see their buildings beforehand, then be wary. The cheapest price is only sometimes the best value.
